Led by Tamara Leigh, Blaque/OUT Equity & Inclusivity Architects takes a transformative and deeply personal approach to DE&I work. Every Educator within Blaque/OUT is not only a trained professional but also a member of the QTPOC community, ensuring that each engagement is grounded in lived experience. This foundation is vital to our work—because lived experience reaches far beyond anything that can be taught.

Through Speaking Engagements, Workshops & Educational Sessions, Procedure & Policy Audits & Appraisals, Project Consultation, Curriculum Development, and DEI Residencies, we partner with organizations to assess where they are, envision where they want to be, and design a cohesive, strategic plan to achieve those goals—whether through a single engagement or an ongoing relationship.

At the heart of our work are relationships. Few people intentionally choose to operate in hate, racism, homophobia, misogyny, or transmisia. These conditions often stem from ignorance of experiences beyond one’s own and a lack of self-exploration—allowing bias and privilege to lead. Choosing not to educate, not to engage in difficult conversations, and not to evolve is still a choice.

By choosing Blaque/OUT, you are choosing to build relationships, engage in meaningful self-exploration, and commit to education that fosters growth beyond ignorance—toward a more equitable, inclusive, and collectively liberated world.

Doing this work at this point in history is not easy work but it has never been so important or imperative.

  • Workshops & Education Sessions

Blaque/OUT offers dynamic, conversation-driven workshops and educational sessions designed for boards, staff, educators, and organizations committed to building equitable and inclusive environments. These sessions go beyond theory—centering real dialogue, lived experience, and practical application in everyday work settings.

Each workshop is facilitated by an experienced educator who presents content, engages participants in open discussion, and provides direct feedback throughout the session. This is a space where participants can ask honest questions, explore complex topics, and gain tools to create meaningful change within their teams and communities.

Workshops can be tailored to address a single focus area or developed as a series over time. Topics include, but are not limited to:

Pronoun Usage in the Workplace – Understanding gender identity and fostering respect through inclusive language.

  • Policy & Procedure Consultation

Tamara Leigh meets with Leadership, Administration, and Board members to assess existing forms, policies, procedures, marketing materials, and physical environments through an inclusionary QTPOC/LGBTQ+/BIPOC lens. Following this evaluation, she develops tailored recommendations designed to help your organization advance and achieve its Equity goals.

  • Project Consultation

It is imperative and socially responsible to ensure that BIPOC, LGBTQ+, QTPOC, and specifically Trans voices are present and empowered in the creation of any plans that impact the community. Blaque/OUT serves as a subcontractor for grants, community-based projects, and strategic planning initiatives—working alongside primary contractors to provide authentic BIPOC, QTPOC, and LGBTQ+ perspectives. Through this work, Blaque/OUT ensures that these communities are not only heard but meaningfully represented and reflected throughout the planning and implementation process.

  • Curriculum Development

Blaque/OUT designs and delivers educational trainings that are written as new and relevant content for each specific audience. Every session is customized to meet the unique needs, experiences, and goals of the participants, ensuring meaningful engagement and lasting impact.

In 2023, Blaque/OUT developed and was granted a U.S. Copyright for its DEI Guided Self-Reflection Tool — a framework that helps organizations and individuals strengthen community engagement by identifying and addressing the implicit biases that often influence behavior and decision-making.

Tamara Leigh, Founder and Editor of Blaque/OUT Magazine, is a Black, Queer advocate, activist, educator, and public relations specialist. She has consulted on the creation of university curriculum inspired by The 1619 Project from The New York Times Magazine and contributed to the development of LGBTQ+ History curriculum as part of New York State’s Anti-Racist Curriculum initiative for high school students.
